Web Gallery of Art

I am sure many of those reading this post know that lately in many places across the U.S. and Canada there has been shall we say a deep freeze.

That makes activity choices a little more smaller especially for parents of young children.  An activity like going to an art gallery would normally be curtailed in such cold weather, but thanks to the Internet parents and those interested in the arts can now take in fine art.

Dozens of galleries are now connected to the net and they offer a way to view what is on display at the gallery.  Some even go a step further and have an online exhibition site.

While searching for something to post here I looked at the Still Cool site and noted that a site called the Internet Art Gallery was not active.  To the Google search bar and a quick search term on the keyword online art galleries and I came up with a nice list.

I decided to click on to http://www.wga.hu and the Web Gallery of Art loaded up.  Nice site, it features a large collection.
The Web Gallery of Art is a virtual museum and searchable database of Western (European) fine arts of the Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, Neoclassicism, Romanticism, Realism, and Impressionism periods (1000-1900), currently containing over 33.300 reproductions. - From the Front page of the site
I will be the first to admit that I have no clue about things art related.  That said, it is still a good idea to promote the arts and in particular those from human history.  I hope you find the site interesting.

A blog, site, something about Montreal that you want to share?  Post a comment with the link and I will take a peek and if it makes the grade, you'll get a notable note.  Thanks for dropping by.
